Teeth Whitening

At Bear Creek Dental we get a lot of questions from patients about teeth whitening.  Everyone likes to make a great impression with a nice bright smile and we are excited to offer an at-home whitening option to patients with serious staining to the teeth, and those with minor stains who want to achieve a dazzling white smile!

A consultation can help you determine how severe your stains are and what kind of results you can expect from a whitening treatment.  To whiten your teeth at home, we outfit patients with whitening gel and a set of custom trays for application.  A dentist takes an impression of your teeth, and from this impression two custom trays are made for your top and bottom teeth.

The trays are made for you to take home and use by applying gel to the trays and then fitting them over your teeth. The dentist’s recommendation of how often to treat and how long each treatment should last may vary.  When following the dentist’s recommendations, most patients see results of teeth whitening 4-8 shades!

Filling a Cavity

Cavities are the destruction of tooth enamel and once this enamel is gone, it doesn’t repair itself. To repair a cavity, one of our doctors at Bear Creek Dental will use a filling material to fill the space that has been destroyed. We encourage all of our patients to practice cavity prevention to avoid costly procedures in the future and to ensure that your oral health status is in good condition.

Many options are available for dental fillings and one of our doctors will discuss these with you during your consultation. The two most commonly used are porcelain (composite) and amalgam. Both are very durable options, and each will last several years before they need to be replaced. If you’ve already received a filling and notice signs of wear, give us a call as you may need a dental crown instead of a filling.

If you have questions or concerns regarding cavities or tooth decay, please give us a call. Dental Bonding

If you have teeth that are chipped, cracked, or fractured, then you may benefit from dental bonding. Dental bonding is a service that we provide at Bear Creek Dental to repair and restore teeth that have aesthetic damage. Once you chip your tooth’s enamel on a hard piece of food or crack it due to dental trauma, it’s gone forever. Fortunately, dental bonding can make it appear and feel as good as new.

Dental bonding is a tooth-colored composite resin that your dentist mixes together to match the color of your natural tooth. The procedure itself only lasts about 30 minutes and allows you to leave the office with a brand new repaired tooth. Food and beverages such as coffee, tea, and wine can stain the resin, so it’s important to maintain a rigorous oral hygiene routine to keep the bonding white.

Whitening Advantages

Are you afraid to show off your smile due to its lackluster appearance? If so, our doctors of Bear Creek Dental are here to revive it – with whitening services. Professional in-office teeth whitening is one of the most common cosmetic dental procedures. This is because it allows you to whiten in a safe, controlled, and carefully monitored environment.

In-office teeth whitening provides fast results and has the ability to make your teeth appear at least two shades whiter. Though whitening will not remove intrinsic stains that are deep in the enamel, it will remove extrinsic stains that are caused by coffee, red wine, sodas, and or dark colored fruits and vegetables. With whiter teeth comes more self-confidence, so if you want that winning smile, contact us today.
